Joan Haig writes fiction and nonfiction. She has authored three books for children, and her work has been translated into six languages and interpreted into art and music. A part-time university lecturer in the study abroad sector, Joan also co-leads a summer school course and offers workshops and mentoring in creative writing and academic skills.

Open Book
Open Book runs over a thousand shared reading and writing sessions every year in diverse community groups across Scotland. The Open Book group at Maggie’s, Edinburgh is for anyone who has or has had cancer. No prior creative writing experience is necessary.
